Implementation
Stage 1:
- Understanding the software products that needs to be tested.
- Understand requirements, assign best suited engineers, put processes in place.
- Stages of testing, how much regression is required.
- Assign Manual Test Engineers if required.
- Train the team and develop a manual that can be used again for training.
Stage 2:
- Understand needs for test data.
- Study existing test cases and identify the gaps.
- Plan to automate the easy test cases earlier.
- Different environments.
- Access and permissions to do necessary work.
Stage 3:
- Start writing Test Cases for regression.
- Test cases to fill gaps to already existing test cases.
- Start building automated regression suites.
- Keep the reporting tools updated.
- Real time metrics.
- Compare results of existing regression results with last regression results.
